Green Eclipse — Original Geometric Abstract Painting

Green Eclipse

Who says you need a rainbow to make something interesting?

I've always loved working with strong, contrasting colors. But lately, I've become equally fascinated by what happens when I take most of those choices away.

Green Eclipse continues an exploration I began with Ochre Study: building a painting around variations of a single color family.

This time, green gets the entire stage.

Different shades and tones move through circles, intersecting shapes, and angular divisions. Some areas feel bright and energetic. Others are quieter, almost disappearing into their neighbors.

And that's where things become interesting.

When colors are closely related, the differences between them become more important. A subtle shift in tone can create movement. A small change in value can make one shape appear to advance while another recedes.

I find myself paying closer attention to relationships I might otherwise overlook.

Green Eclipse is another reminder that limitations can lead to unexpected discoveries.

Sometimes less color gives you more to look at.
