In the heart of Summit County, you’ll find Frisco, a once-sleepy mining town that has grown into a charming and peaceful mountain hideaway. Within half an hour of six of Colorado’s best ski resorts, Frisco offers plenty of things to do and is a quaint little town to call home. The town hasn't forgotten its roots, either, as the Frisco Historic Park features some buildings from the mining era that have been relocated and conserved.

What to Love

  • Located within half an hour of Colorado’s world-class ski resorts
  • Quaint and low-key atmosphere
  • Fun-filled downtown with plenty of restaurants and shops

Local Lifestyle

With a small population of approximately 2,500 residents, Frisco is known for its focus on the family-friendly lifestyle. Take the kids to the park or playground for a fun day in the sun, check out a book at the library, or participate in fun community activities like Frisco’s Fantastic Fourth of July or the Colorado Barbecue Challenge. Schools in the area also have an excellent reputation, ensuring that your children will receive the best education possible.

Frisco residents tend to love the great outdoors; truly, there’s no better place to call home if you’re eager to get outside! Home to the Frisco Bay Marina, which serves as the gateway to Dillon Reservoir, Frisco offers ample opportunities to rent boats, kayaks, canoes, and rafting trips that depart daily from May through September. In winter, the slopes take precedence, and residents enjoy plenty of opportunities for skiing, snowshoeing, and more.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

There’s no question that Frisco is known for its thriving yet charming downtown area. Stop by 5th Ave Grill, a casual restaurant and bar that serves up delicious steaks and seafood dishes. Located in the heart of downtown Frisco, this is the perfect place to meet up with friends for a wonderful meal. There’s also the Uptown on Main, a local favorite – try the bourbon-glazed bison meatloaf or flank steak!

Over at 10-Mile Music Hall, enjoy a lively concert or host a private event! There are also unlimited options for fun along Frisco’s Main Street. Bike or stroll along the street, soaking up local energy, and stop in for a bite to eat at one of Main Street’s many fabulous restaurants; Kemosabe, Ollie’s Pub and Grub, and Ein Prosit are some favorites. There are also plenty of locally-owned businesses to browse, from jewelry and antiques at Frisco Emporium to outdoor clothing options at Rivers Clothing Company. During the summer, you can even enjoy a concert in the park!

Things to Do

Downtown Frisco is dotted with brightly colored stores and restaurants, making it the ideal place to wander after a day on the lake or on the slopes in the winter. While you're out and about, pay a visit to the Frisco Historic Park and Museum. Artifacts, interactive displays, and information on Frisco's history may be found throughout the museum. The historic park is open to the public and contains 11 ancient structures, including a teepee, schoolhouse, and even a jailhouse!
