During the booming ski season, however, the number of residents and visitors enjoying Breckenridge’s amenities balloons to more than 39,000. People are drawn to this gorgeous mountain town for the laid-back atmosphere combined with luxury amenities.

Breckenridge’s thriving downtown is the perfect place for spending time with friends or family. Grab some unique artisan frozen treats at Higgles Ice Cream, which serves some truly special ice cream flavors. While the menu changes regularly, you can expect to sample flavors like chocolate avocado, coffee bean, and Oreo cheesecake.
Ready for a delicious meal? Try Ember, an upscale New American restaurant that’s perfect for elegant dinners or apres-ski. Ember is known for their decadent steaks, and they also feature a fabulous cocktail menu that’s great for happy hour. Giampetro Pizza & Pasta is the perfect spot for anyone looking for some tasty Italian cuisine. Since 1963, Giampetro has been delighting Breckenridge diners with their family-style meals and incredible wine list.

Things to Do

Breckenbridge is full of places to explore. Most people who come to this town flock to  Breckenridge Ski Mountain, the world class ski resort that puts Breckenridge on the map. One of the most-visited ski resorts in the western hemisphere, Breck is known for its five peaks, which boast over 180 stunning ski trails. The glittering mountain is often coated in snow well into the spring season, allowing for extra months of skiing. Not much of a skier? No problem – hop on over to the Rejuvenation Spa for a relaxing massage or treatment.
Golfers will have the time of their lives in Breckenridge. The Bear Course, The Beaver Course, and The Elk Course are the three championship nine-hole courses at the Jack Nicklaus-designed Breckenridge Golf Club. Every hole on the Breckenridge Golf Course offers panoramic vistas of the snow-capped Colorado Rockies.
Grab your paddleboard or kayak and travel to Lake Dillon, which has a 25-mile shoreline surrounded by majestic mountains. If you like wading, Breckenridge is close to the headwaters of five major rivers. Fly-fishing on the Blue, Eagle, Colorado, Arkansas, and South Platte Rivers is available within an hour of town.
Have a blast celebrating Oktoberfest in Breckenridge! This exciting weekend is perfect for anyone looking for a taste of German culture. Try some brews and delicious food, and bring the kids along for the fall family fair.
In the winter, Breckenridge is known for its Ullr Festival, a tradition of over 50 years that celebrates Ullr, the Norse god of snow. Each December, this famed festival includes a parade, a festive bonfire, and, of course, plenty of food and drink.
